Columbia 14-Black opened their season at the first day of CEVA Power League Qualifier under something of a handicap. Restricted to starting practice only after November 31st (and with four players new to club volleyball), they had a little catch up to play against their elite competition in CEVA. Still, the 14-Black girls proved they could compete, held their #29 seed (thanks to a schedule that saw them playing only opponents from the top 21 teams in the league), and shook off a lot of early mistakes to get themselves ready for Day two. 14-Black will be #29 again (of 144) and will play in Salem this Sunday.

Scores: lost to #13 NW Reign 14-1 16-25, 23-25; lost to #4 OJVBA 14-1 Gold 11-25, 12-25; lost to #20 Cowlitz 14-1 Black 17-25, 24-26; lost to #21 NCVBC 14-1 Black 7-25, 21-25 - to finish 29th (of 144)
